The Kenan Center is proud to present the third of our solo exhibits featuring women artists of Western New York. This exhibit focuses on the work of painter Coni Minneci and will include her entire series, A to Z: An Historical Survey of Women Artists, along with a collection of Niagara Falls scenics and other landscapes. Artist's reception, Sunday, September 7, 2-5 pm. Gallery hours: M-F, Noon-5 pm; Sat & Sun, 2-5 pm. Read more.

Rapunzel with Missoula Children's Theatre, October 14-18

MCT is back for a 12th year to present a week-long residency that culminates in two musical productions featuring a cast of local young performers. Visit the Arts page for details on the Group Audition, October 14, and performance date and times.

Fall Registration; Summer Soccer Standings

New this year is online registration. Visit the Soccer page, and click the links for the age group/division in which you want to register your child or children. Or, you can download the application or fill out a hard copy and return to the Sports & Recreation Office. Also visit this page for summer soccer standings. For questions regarding schedules, or cancellation of games/practices due to weather, please call the Arena office at 433-2619.

Watercolor Lecture with Kathleen Giles September 15: Spaces Available

Artist Kathleen Giles still has spaces available for her two hour painting lecture on "Painting Dynamic Flowers," Monday, September 15, from 10 am to noon. To register, contact Kathleen at or 795-9368.

Children & Music Together with Mary Dunn

The fall schedule for Children & Music Together is now available on the Education page. Registrations are now being accepted through September 25.

After-School Strings Program: Register Now for 2014/2015

The Kenan Center's After-School Strings Program offers professional instruction to children and adults on the violin, viola and cello. Individual and group lessons are available, and children 3 to 8 have the option of traditional or Suzuki method. Learn more about the program and how to register.

Kenan Center Montessori Preschool

Two spaces are currently available for the program beginning in fall. For information, call the Kenan Center Business Office at 433-2617. The Kenan Center's Montessori Preschool provides multi-sensory, multi-age group learning that's hands-on and child-centered. The program is half-day, 5 days a week. Click here for more details.

RENTALS: Book Now for Your Special Event or Party

The Kenan Center is the perfect setting for a wedding, reception, meeting, or private party. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are available. Summer dates are limited and fill up quickly. Weather-related Closings The Kenan Center (Business Office and Gallery) and Preschool are closed when the Lockport Schools are closed due to weather. Events scheduled for days when the Center is closed due to weather may still take place. Please refer to local TV stations for event cancellations. You can also call the Kenan Center Business number at 433-2617 for a recorded voicemail message about cancellations. The Kenan Arena and recreational programs may take place even if the Center is closed. If you have children in a program that is cancelled, you will be contacted. You can also call the Arena at 433-2619 to inquire if a program is cancelled. Generally, a decision to cancel a recreational program is made in the afternoon of a weather-related event. Promoters of special events not hosted by the Kenan Center that are cancelled due to weather are responsible for informing the public about the cancellation of their event. Again, we recommend watching your local news channel for event cancellations.
