The Kenan Center proudly presents the 25th anniversary exhibition of more than 350 images taken by Niagara County Vietnam Veterans. Meet special guest Duery Felton Jr., recently retired curator of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Collection in Washington at the pulic reception, Sunday, September 13 from 2-5 pm. A series of panel discussions will take place throughout the exhibit, and a 5K race/walk in honor of Niagara County's fallen heroes will start and end at the Kenan Center October 4. KENAN SPEAKER SERIES 2015: Lauren Winner, September 26

In this on-going series of topical lectures on religion and culture, the Kenan Center with the First Presbyterian Church of Lockport, is proud to present Lauren Winner, author of Girl Meets God, at 3 pm on saturday Sept. 26. She is an Assistant Professor of Christian Spirituality at Duke Divinity School as well an as ordained Episcopal priest. Only 150 seats available. Save the Date: Kenan Center's 3rd Annual Gala, October 24

Join us for a gala evening of food, drinks, and live music with Kevin Clark and the Mark Mazur Trio at the Lockport Town & Country Club. 6:30 p.m. to midnight with one hour open bar and hors d'ouerves from 6:30-7:30 pm followed by dinner. Black tie optional. Proceeds to benefit Kenan Center Scholarship Program, providing those in need with the ability to participate. Tickets are $75/individual and $150/couple. Register for Fall Soccer

The Kenan Center Sports & Recreation Department is now taking regsitrations for fall soccer. Applications are available in the Arena office and can be downloaded from the Youth Soccer page. Deadline for registering is September 14.


Our first year offering a Summer Youth Program with multiple components serving ages 3 to 17 showed that there is a tremendous need in the community for safe, fun and affordable activities for youth. You can help by making a donation to support the Summer Youth Program, Program Scholarships that help families to participate in a variety of programs throughout the year, or contribute to our Public Art Purchase Fund. The Kenan Center is the perfect setting for a wedding, reception, meeting, or private party. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are available. Summer dates are limited and fill up quickly. Winter Closing

Weather-related Closings The Kenan Center (Business Office and Gallery) and Preschool are closed when the Lockport Schools are closed due to weather. Events scheduled for days when the Center is closed due to weather may still take place. Please refer to local TV stations for event cancellations. You can also call the Kenan Center Business number at 433-2617 for a recorded voicemail message about cancellations. The Kenan Arena and recreational programs may take place even if the Center is closed. If you have children in a program that is cancelled, you will be contacted. You can also call the Arena at 433-2619 to inquire if a program is cancelled. Generally, a decision to cancel a recreational program is made in the afternoon of a weather-related event. Promoters of special events not hosted by the Kenan Center that are cancelled due to weather are responsible for informing the public about the cancellation of their event. Again, we recommend watching your local news channel for event cancellations.
